In the era of Donald Trump and Brexit, the term "post-truth" has resonated on both sides of the Atlantic, so much so that Oxford Dictionaries - which publishes the wordsmith's bible, the Oxford English Dictionary - has declared it to be the word of the year. Editors said that use of the term had increased by around 2,000 per cent in 2016 compared to last year, but some have questioned its use and inclusion in the OED.
