Sir Vince Cable: Brexit is proving to be "a significant shifter of public opinion". Speaking to the Westminster Hour's Carolyn Quinn, the former Liberal Democrat MP and Business Secretary said the margin in Thursday's Richmond Park by-election was "narrowing". Sir Vince said: "We are discovering that there are large numbers of people in Richmond who voted Remain, feel strongly and are represented by an MP who has taken an opposite view, and not just an opposite view but is stridently hostile to the European Union." He added: "I think this is proving to be a significant shifter of public opinion. I think it will be very close. We’re just several points behind but closing rapidly. We just don’t know. I think it will be close. If that happens it will be a very good outcome.”
