US admits 'human error' on Syrian forces deaths

The World Tonight

A US Air Force investigation into how an Allied air strike mistook Syrian Government forces for fighters from so-called ISIS has blamed human error. Around 60 soldiers were killed in the incident in September. US Central Command Spokesperson Colonel John J Thomas said the hotline used to share information between the Allies and the Russians "was not set up to deal with this kind of late breaking notification" and so a "27 minute delay" in action, occurred.
