Refugee camp midwife: "I just pity them. Giving birth at home is difficult"

Focus on Africa

Available for over a year

Two thousand displaced people live at a camp known as Durumi on the outskirts of Nigeria's capital, Abuja. Boko haram militants have wreaked havoc in Nigeria with bombings, assassinations and abductions. Nigerian lawyer, Tokunbo Ifaturoti, left a life in London and set up an NGO called the Children Youth & Women Empowerment Initiative to help these internally displaced people. Bola Mosuro speaks to her and Leatu Ayuba, the camp's midwife.
