Revamping Obama's ancestral home in Kenya

Focus on Africa

Available for over a year

A small village in western Kenya was thrust into the international spotlight when its most famous son first became Senator for Illinois, then President of the United States. Barack Obama's father left Kogelo for the US in the late 1950s. His son returned while a Senator in 2006, then later as US President in 2015. Since then the villagers have seen a number of changes to their schools, roads and provisions. Â鶹Éç Africa's Muliro Telewa reports.
