How do you photograph a black hole?

The World This Week

Available for over a year

What are black holes, how do we know they are there and why do they matter? Well all those questions could become much clearer - and soon - as scientists in the US are creating a telescope powerful enough to bring us the first ever pictures of a black hole. Our Science reporter, Jonathan Amos, is in Boston, where an extraordinary effort is underway to link twelve most powerful radio telescopes around the world, creating one virtual mega-telescope.
