Nigerian food writer on 'Soups, Sex and Nigerian Taste Buds'

Focus on Africa

Available for over a year

'Afang Soup and Hairy legs', 'Fish soup and love potions' and 'Eating Dog' are some of the imaginatively titled essays in Yemisi Aribisala's new collection. Her book is called 'Longthroat Memoirs: Soups, Sex and Nigerian Taste Buds'. Yemisi Aribisala is the first African to win an international food writing prize known as the John Avery Award. The Â鶹Éç's Kim Chakanetsa first asks her to read an extract from the book. (Photo: Helena Kridge)
