Alexis Kirk at the University of Portsmouth is a Computer Music Researcher who focuses on using artificial intelligence algorithms to perform textual analysis of any text to look for emotional content and he’s chosen the entire works of Lennon and McCartney as test data. Thanks to the number crunching power of computer algorithms the emotional content of 23 years worth of their compositions have been analysed. The results are startling.
