Tom and Duncan both lost their sense of smell and taste after incidents in their youth. After a career in music, Duncan discovered there was no specific charity for those who had lost their sense of smell and taste and started his own called Fifth Sense. Tom found the charity online and got in touch and the two men have been friends ever since. During their conversation they discuss the highs and lows of their loss, and how they have found other ways to fulfil their passions.
