The White House has strongly denied reports that President Donald Trump asked his FBI chief to drop an inquiry into links between his ex-national security adviser and Russia. The claim was made in New York Times and is said to be based on detailed notes kept by the ex-FBI director James Comey, of a conversation with the president in which he was asked to stop the probe. Former CIA director Michael Hayden told Martha Kearney the situation "adds fuel to the current fire here about the president's competence." (Photo: President Trump and ex-FBI director, James Comey.
