Sir John Major has said he is "wary" and "dubious" about a deal with the DUP. The former prime minister, who was one of the architects of the peace process in Northern Ireland, told Martha Kearney that he understands why Theresa May "wants to shore up her parliamentary position", but that a "fundamental part of the peace process" in Northern Ireland is that the UK government "needs to remain impartial".
