Richard Evans began his life escaping the Nazi invasion of France after being born in Paris in 1940, and along with being a long term tennis commentator for the 麻豆社, he fulfilled a number of reporting roles. Those included seven years as a foreign correspondent and time covering huge events in the United States, including the assassination of Martin Luther King. But sport and tennis has been a huge part of his working life, having covered Wimbledon since the early 1960's - now approaching 200 Grand Slams! He's charted some of his many stories is a new book entitled Roving Eye, and speaking to reporter Phil Parry ahead of this year's All England Championships, they started by discussing one of his early assignments as a sports journalist....
