World Business Report

Available for over a year

If we made better use of the secrets held within our DNA, could it lead to a revolution in the way we treat disease? England's chief medical officer is convinced that it could. Sally Davies has issued a call for much wider use of genetic testing, to improve the treatment of cancer and infections. She wants gene testing to become standard practice across the UK's National Health Service within the next five years. Professor Peter Donnelly is director of the Wellcome Trust Centre for Human Genetics, at Oxford University here in the UK. He spoke to the 麻豆社's Mike Johnson. Photo: Adam Gault/ Getty Images
