Peggy chooses the poetry of Sappho for Queer Icons, Â鶹Éç Radio's celebration of LGBTQ culture. Sappho was a Greek poet from the island of Lesbos in 6th Century B.C., famous for her poems about love and women. Peggy Reynolds is Professor of English at Queen Mary, University of London. Her books include The Sappho Companion. This interview was broadcast on Radio 3's Free Thinking programme, presented by Catherine Fletcher and also featuring the writers Jonathan Dollimore and Rohit Dasgupta.
