Smart technology needed for future electricity use

World at One

Available for over a year

New government rules plan to make it easier for people to generate their own power with solar panels, store it in batteries and sell it to the National Grid. Chris Wright, chief technology officer of Moixa which installs smart home batteries, told the World at One "it's time that smart technology was used to deliver what we need for the future of the grid". He said he hoped the legislation was "the beginning of a recognition of the power that this can have". (Photo: Pylon. Credit: Â鶹Éç)
