Shahnaz Bano’s parents were born in British India in the 1930’s. When partition was announced her mother’s house in Patiala was attacked. Shanaz's grandmother and uncle were killed. Her mother was attacked but survived and after the deaths of her mother and brother she walked alone to the border to Pakistan she was just NINE years old at the time,and spent four months in a refugee camp. In this interview Shahnaz speaks to Âé¶¹Éç’s Waheed Akhtar about the impact partition had on her family in particular her mother
