Kenya bans plastic bags

World Business Report

Available for over a year

Dozens of nations have introduced rules and taxes to try to curb the use of plastic bags. Many of them have been successful. Kenya has just introduced what is by far the world's toughest law on plastic bags. Anyone found in possession of one faces a fine of up to $40,000 or even four years in prison. The 麻豆社's Anne Soy is in the Kenyan capital Nairobi. She's been telling the 麻豆社's Rob Young why the law is so tough. Picture: Zero Creatives/ Getty Images
