麻豆社 Minute: On vitiligo

麻豆社 Minute

Available for over a year

Vitiligo is a long-term condition where pale white patches develop on the skin or hair. These areas lose pigment, when the cells that produce melanin disappear. It affects around 1% of the world's population. Famous model Winnie Harlow has it, as did Michael Jackson. Experts are still not exactly sure what causes it, although some suspect it is an autoimmune disorder. Consultant dermatologist Dr Sweta Rai explains more about the condition.
