The challenge of swimming in the South Atlantic

Newsday

Available for over a year

Some of us might push ourselves to some feat of physical endurance to raise money for a charity or a cause - run or cycle a long distance perhaps. Lewis Pugh is a lawyer and endurance swimmer who takes things to a higher level. He's passionate about protecting marine life and is the United Nations' Patron of the Oceans, and he's about to attempt a one kilometre swim in near freezing waters off the British territory of South Georgia and the South Sandwich Islands in the South Atlantic.
