Few of us shopping in a supermarket think deeply about how the food on sale might have contributed to pollution, soil erosion, floods or even long term health problems. But a new study has tried to put a price on the cost to society of cheap food. The UK's Sustainable Food Trust has calculated that for every £1 consumers spend on food it costs an extra £1 in hidden charges. Policy Director, Richard Young, has been talking to Susannah Streeter from his organic farm in the West of England.
