麻豆社 Minute: On 'triple talaq' in India

麻豆社 Minute

Available for over a year

India is one of a handful of countries where a Muslim man can divorce his wife in minutes by saying the word talaq (divorce) three times. Jill McGivering, the 麻豆社's South Asia Editor at the World Service, explains why some Muslim women and rights groups have been campaigning for years against the custom.
