"A momentous day for all of us"... that's how AFC Wimbledon chief executive Erik Samuelson described the news that the club can begin construction of their proposed new stadium at Plough Lane. After years of planning, the League One side finally signed an agreement with Merton Council on Wednesday to redevelop Wimbledon greyhound stadium. Their aim is to start the 2019/20 season in their new ground, 17 years after the club was formed following the old Wimbledon FC's relocation 55 miles north to Milton Keynes.
