Coventry City boss Mark Robins has revealed he spoke to Mark Hughes before he was dramatically sacked as Stoke manager. Hughes lost his job after Stoke were beaten by Coventry in the FA Cup, the shock result of the 3rd round. Robins thinks Hughes is still a “good manager”, who put his “heart and soul” into the job. When they caught up post match, Robins explained Hughes was still “upbeat” and hoping to continue as Stoke boss. From Sportsweek Sunday 7 January 2018.
