It was an unexpected marriage, punk and Irish folk - but it worked. The Pogues had a string of hits in the 80s but the man behind the songs, Shane MacGowan has lived a life that has on many occasions taken him to the brink. His intake of drink and drugs - led many to wonder if he'd make it to 30. But, he's defied them all and last night - in front of a sell out crowd at Dublin's National Concert Hall - he celebrated his 60th birthday. (Image: Shane McGowan, credit: Getty Images)
