One hundred years of votes for women

Today in Parliament

Available for over a year

It is one hundred years since the Representation of the People Act, which gave women over 30, with property, the right to vote in Parliamentary elections. Peers held a debate in the Lords to mark that anniversary. Several speakers shared memories of the women they had met who had fought for female suffrage... but many argued there was a long way to go in the battle for equality.
