'Tutu' artist's son is not surprised by its record sale

Focus on Africa

Available for over a year

Oliver Enwonwu, son of late Nigerian multimedia artist, Professor Ben Enwonwu, says he is not surprised his father's masterpiece sold for more than £1m ($1.4m). The 1974 painting of the Ife princess Adetutu Ademiluyi, known as Tutu, was found in a London flat after being missing for 40 years. The portrait became a symbol of reconciliation after Nigeria's Biafra conflict. (Image: Oliver Enwonwu [L] and the painting entitled 'Tutu'. Credit: both Getty Images).
