Why people are ditching buying milk in shops

Radio 4 in Four

Available for over a year

There’s a quiet revolution going on in the milk industry – people are ditching the plastic to go back to glass bottles and they’re being delivered to your doorstep. The number of milk bottle deliveries has risen by almost 200,000 to a million in the past year alone, according to the people who count them at Dairy UK, which represents the industry. Mark Woodman has spent thousands renovating his milk cart. Mark Hutchings went to meet him on a milk round. Melanie Abbott presents. First broadcast on You & Yours, 12 March 2018.
