Barely fifty years ago motorists were entirely dependent on ferries, the vagaries of tides and winds and winding rural roads in order to cross the Welsh border. Then came the first road bridge, soon followed by a second. But a new era in road travel between England and Wales is about to be inaugurated when tolls on both river crossings are abolished. Â鶹Éç Wales’ Felicity Evans has been pondering what this mini-revolution is likely to mean for the people and places of the border country. First broadcast on From Our Home Correspondent, 18 March 2018.
