The US has re-imposed a range of sanctions on Iran aimed at targeting core parts of its economy. The Trump administration is restoring all sanctions lifted under the 2015 nuclear deal in a bid to pressure Iran. They will hit oil exports, shipping and banks, and make it difficult to do business with the oil-rich nation. How are these sanctions going to impact Iran? Seyed Mohammad Marandi is professor of English Literature at the University of Tehran. (Image: US dollar being set in fire. Credit: AFP)
