Actor: Stopping my bipolar medication led me to cut hand off

Outside Source

Available for over a year

Todd LaTourette is a US actor who's appeared in Better Call Saul. He was diagnosed with bipolar disorder at the age of 31 - but stopped taking his medication. That led to him having a psychotic episode and cutting off his right hand. He admits that in the years after, he lied to two casting directors about what happened - telling them he was a military veteran. While he still gets flashbacks of severing his hand, he says he's able to do all the work he needs to do - such as carpentry. He wants others to learn from what happened to him.
