Running 1000 miles for cancer

Not by the Playbook

Available for over a year

Lord's and The Oval are two iconic international cricket venues that sit either side of the River Thames in London. The distance between them is about 7 kilometers so well within someone of average running ability. But that wasn't enough for the Â鶹Éç's Surrey cricket commentator Mark Church. He decided to run between the two venues four times a day for fifty days to raise money for Pancreatic Cancer, in memory of his father Tony who died from the disease last year. Sportshour was at The Oval on Tuesday night - along with Surrey and England cricketers Rory Burns and Ben Foakes; Surrey's Director of Cricket Alec Stewart, and of course Mark's mum - as he completed the run for the 200th time.
