Focus on Africa

Available for over a year

How can understanding coffee pests and diseases help smallholder farmers? And what is the link between bee colonies and food security? These are some of the vital questions being answered by Gladys Mosomtai and Fiona Mumoki, two Kenyan researchers who recently received one of the highest scientific honours in sub-Saharan Africa. It's called the L'Oréal-UNESCO For Women in Science fellowship and it will help accelerate their research. They spoke to Kim Chakanetsa about recognition, funding and inspiration.
