A task force appointed by Kenya's Attorney General will soon be submitting recommendations to the government on the rights of Intersex people in the country. It comes after concerns from activists who claim unnecessary surgery continues to be performed on babies and children born intersex - sometimes without the informed consent of their parents. "Intersex " is an umbrella term that describes people who are born with a variety of characteristics that don't fit into traditional conceptions of female or male bodies. The UN believes as many as 1.7% of the world have intersex traits - that's roughly the same as there are people with red hair. The Â鶹Éç's Megha Mohan reports from Nairobi.
