Focus on Africa

Available for over a year

Nigerians head to the ballot boxes on 16 February. Around 84 million are eligible to vote, among them are three generations of one family based in Ikorodu, north of Lagos. Focus on Africa's Bola Mosuro visited the Awolesi's at their residence and spoke to 49 year old Kemi Awolesi, a civil servant, her 69 year old mother, Oluyemisideenor, and her 18 year old granddaughter, Doyinshola Awolesi who's waiting for a place at university. So what issues are determining how they will cast their ballots in what is turning out to be a closely contested election?
