Portland: Winter heatwave affecting wildlife

Steve Harris

Available for over a year

Nature's clock is a little out of sync after the February heatwave. Animal species which experts don't expect to see until late March into April are making an appearance. This has raised concerns of their future should we suffer a cold snap such as the beast from the east of 2018. Our reporter Laurence Herdman ventured out to Portland to see how an unseasonably warm February has been affecting wildlife in the area. Martin Cade from Portland Bird Observatory highlighted the strain this could cause if the area suffers a cold snap.
