Murder and mystery deep in the heart of rural Poland

Weekend

Available for over a year

Drive Your Plow Over The Bones Of The Dead is by Olga Tokarczuk and is translated by Antonia Lloyd Jones. This is a murder mystery set deep in the Polish countryside. Janina Duszejko is an eccentric woman in her sixties who prefers animals to people, who believes in the stars and who loves the poetry of William Blake (who provides the title of the novel). When her neighbours start to turn up dead in mysterious circumstances, she becomes an unlikely investigator. Olga's last book to be translated into English, Flights, was the winner of the 2018 Man Booker International Prize.
