In 2019, Jacy was selected from hundreds of entrants as one of the winners in the Lower Junior category of the annual �鶹�� Young Composer Competition. His winning piece, Alien Attack – Opening Sequence, was performed by Aurora Orchestra and conducted by Duncan Ward, as part of the �鶹�� Proms Inspire Concert at the �鶹��’s Maida Vale Studios on 13 August 2019. “This piece was written so that my music teacher could assess my capabilities in composing. She gave me the set brief for the Year 11 GCSE composition which was to write a piece of music for a film called Alien Attack. Although it was not an actual film, I pictured the story in my head as I was composing and afterwards labelled the score so that anyone who read it could understand what the music represented. I have written for a full symphony orchestra as I enjoy exploring its different textures and layers, and using that in my own writing.”
