How I turn banana waste into paper bags

Outlook

Available for over a year

Alhaji Siraj Bah from Sierra Leone is only 20 years old and yet he has achieved a great deal. He's become an entrepreneur and environmentalist and makes attractive biodegradable paper bags using banana fibre to provide a real alternative to plastic. Alharji has seen at first hand the devastation in his country caused by mudslides- something made much worse by deforestation and plastic rubbish blocking the drains. He was spurred into action after his best friend's entire family died in mudslides in the capital Freetown.
