Musician Tricky speaks about his book and his life

Weekend

Available for over a year

What do Bjork, Grace Jones, P.J. Harvey, and Massive Attack all have in common? The answer is they all collaborated with the record producer and rapper Tricky. In the 1990s, he helped pioneer the atmospheric, downtempo style of music that came to be known as Trip-Hop. He's just about to release his autobiography, named after one of his most famous songs, Hell Is Around the Corner. Julian Worricker asked him about one obvious takeaway from the book: the fact that he doesn't appear to particularly enjoy being famous.
