Shafali Verma: Meet India's newest cricket star

Stumped

Available for over a year

Meet India's newest cricketing star, Shafali Verma, who became the youngest Indian player to score an international half-century, breaking Sachin Tendulkar鈥檚 long standing record. The legendary Tendulkar was 16 years and 214 days when he made a half-century in a Test against Pakistan in Faisalabad in 1989, while Verma did it at 15 years and 285 days. The 15-year-old tells 麻豆社 Stumped about the adversity she's faced in her young career so far. Growing up in her hometown of Rohtak, she had to dress as a boy to go to a cricket academy as there were no facilities for girls to play.
