Wildlife 'will take 30 years to recover' after fire in Wareham Forest

Steve Harris

Available for over a year

There's a major reptile rescue operation underway in Wareham Forest, after Monday's large scale fire. The race is on to help several animal species that are likely to have survived the heat by burrowing underground. Dozens of volunteers from different agencies and members of the public have come forward to assist. Forestry England says Wareham Forest is one of the most important sites in UK for British reptiles.
