Mali protest group rejects unity government offer

Focus on Africa

Available for over a year

Mali’s Prime Minister Boubou Cissé has invited influential imam Mahmoud Dicko to bring his movement into a unity government, in an effort to resolve the ongoing political crisis. But many of the groups who form the protest movement have rejected this, and a compromise deal proposed by West African leaders. Audrey Brown has been talking to Ramata Sissoko Cisse, the president of the Change in Mali civil society group, and coordinator of the M5-RFP in the United States.
