We continue to mark Focus on Africa Radio's 60th birthday since it came on air. To celebrate this milestone, we are looking back at the people who have worked on the programme. Nat Serache started reporting for Focus just before the Soweto uprising in June 1976 when school children took to the streets to protest being forced to learn Afrikaans, the language of the apartheid oppressors. You may have heard the name of Hector Pieterson, he was one of the children who was shot that day. Here, Nat Serache reflects on his journey working for Focus on Africa Radio. (Photo: Nat Serache.
