Mozambique conflict: thousands forced to flee into Tanzania

Focus on Africa

Available for over a year

In northern Mozambique, the escalating conflict is forcing thousands to flee their homes. An increasing number of them are now finding their way into neighbouring Tanzania. There are also reports of increasing cases of human rights abuses particularly in the Cabo Delgado area where fighting between Islamist militants and government forces has been concentrated. The Â鶹Éç's Audrey Brown has been talking to Lola Castro, the World Food Programme Regional Director in Southern Africa.
