Sierra Leone President Maada Bio on corruption

Focus on Africa

Available for over a year

In Sierra Leone, White Papers were released following three foreign judge-led commissions of inquiry into the activities of the administration of former president Ernest Bai Koroma. President Julius Maada Bio and his government upheld most of the recommendations bordering on the seizure by the state of property and the payment of reimbursement of monies believed to have been stolen from the people. Umaru Fofana has been talking to president Bio who started by giving him his reaction to the launch of the white papers. A lawyer for the opposition All People's Congress (APC) has denied the allegations and says they will be challenged. (Photo: Sierra Leone President Julius Maada Bio. Credit: Getty Images)
