Pregnancy, and becoming a parent, can be an anxious time. But coronavirus measures are making it harder and the rules are different where you live, particularly in Dorset. During lockdown many mums had to go through scans and antenatal appointments alone and there were stories of dads missing the births altogether because they weren't allowed in. Since the beginning of September, hospitals have been told to open their departments up again, but the two Dorset hospital trusts still have restrictions and one is not allowing dads to see their babies in the few days after birth. Amanda and James, from Poole, had a few hours all together after the birth of their son, before she was told she'd need to be admitted due to blood loss. The couple have told Â鶹Éç Radio Solent that it was at that point they knew their family time was over. University Hospitals Dorset says it hopes to change the rules within four weeks.
