Long Covid: 'My life doesn't look anything like it used to'

The Newsroom

Available for over a year

As scientists continue to search for a vaccine for coronavirus, they're also learning about the long-lasting inpact which the infection can have. New research from the National Institute for Health Research in the UK, suggests the condition could be due to four different syndromes - the effects of being in intensive care; permanent organ damage; post-viral fatigue and what it calls "long-term Covid", which it describes as a "rollercoaster of symptoms" that move around the body. 聽 Annette Shelford is a former fitness instructor who has chronic fatigue after developing COVID 19 symptoms in March.聽She describes the changing symptoms she is still experiencing. Elaine Maxwell, a clinical adviser at the National Institute for Health Research, and the author of a review into the condition.
