Available for over a year

Austrian police have made some arrests at addresses in Vienna linked to a gunman who killed at least four people in Vienna in an attack on Monday night. The man blamed for carrying out the attack was a 20-year-old "Islamist terrorist" who was released early from jail in December 2019. Sasha Havlicek, director聽of the Institute for Strategic Dialogue which focuses on global counter extremism, explains what we know about the gunman and possible related activity. She says how this is "the first larger-scale, multi-target armed terrorist attack we've seen since the Paris attack of 2015" and how more extremist "chatter" has been noticed during lockdown.
