How will the Covid-19 vaccine be rolled out around the world?

Newshour

Available for over a year

Many believe that until everybody has had a vaccine, nobody can consider themselves as safe, but getting the vaccine to everyone that needs it will be a considerable human and logistical challenge. Aurelia Nguyen, Managing Director of the COVAX Facility at the Global Vaccine Alliance, GAVI, explains the logistical challenges of distributing the Covid-19 vaccines. She explains the necessity of equitable distribution across the 180 countries that COVAX (the global collaboration to accelerate the development, production, and access to COVID-19 tests, treatments, and vaccines) are overseeing and the work currently being done to manage the manufacturing process. "This has never been done before. This is going to be the world's largest, fastest roll out of any vaccine in history, and that's going to have a huge amount of challenges."
