Members of the National Assembly in The Gambia have approved a loan facility linked to their gratuity payments once they leave office. Proponents say it makes legislators less suseptible to corruption. Those oposed to the loans say that the Assembly is demonstrating how out of touch it is with the rest of Gambian society.
